Puninar Logistics was established in 1969 as Puninar Jaya, a customs brokerage service. It started offering transportation services in 1975 and got into the warehouse business in 1984. In 1990, Puninar Yusen Logistics Indonesia was created in partnership with Yusen Logistics Japan. In 1998 it became a member of the Triputra Group, one of Indonesia's largest group of companies.
Since then it has established many subsidiaries to focus on specific sectors, mainly as joint ventures with foreign companies that have specialized knowledge of those sectors.
Puninar Logistics has an annual management trainee program that recruits around 15-25 people per batch. Although they accept bachelors degree from any major, preference is given to graduates in industrial engineering, chemical engineering, logistics, mathematics, statistics, accounting, management, transportation management and law.
Graduates must be 26 years or less and have a minimum GPA of 3.25. Fresh graduates or candidates with less than two years of experience is preferred. Recruiting usually happens during the first quarter of the year and advertised in national newspapers, job sites and the company website. The interviews are held as walk-in-interviews at the head office in Jakarta.
It’s an intense program that runs for about six months. You’ll be attending classes, working with teams under the guidance of a mentor, visiting various division of the company to learn about their processes, participate in outbound training programs and coming up with your own projects to improve processes.
The candidates will be evaluated and given feedback throughout the process. Participating in the programs does not guarantee you a job with the company.
